maaba monthly events

Join us for golf in May or June

  MAABA is offering  free group golf lessons again this summer.  Group lessons will be 4-5  MAABA members paired with one professional golf instructor.  Lessons  will be from 9 to 10 am on Sundays in either May or June at Tower Tee  Golf & Recreation.

March 7 Pro Bono Event

 MAABA  is partnering with Land of Lincoln Legal Aid and Metro East Pride to  hold a Legal Name Change Clinic in East St. Louis on Friday, March 7th.  Volunteers will receive a free CLE training on the Illinois name change  process on Monday, March 3rd. Attorneys licensed outside of Illinois are  welcome to participate. MAABA members will volunteer from 4 to 5 pm and  then go out to dinner following the event. Please email maaba.president@gmail.com to RSVP and for more information.    

March 7- Women in the Law Symposium

This is not a MAABA event. However, MAABA will sponsor  

a limited number of MAABA members to attend this event. Please RSVP to Mackenzie at maaba.secretary@gmail.com by February 7, 2025.   

 

This nationally  recognized event is intended to offer valuable networking and  educational opportunities for women who work in the legal  profession, but it is open to everyone. You do not have to be a  woman or an attorney to attend. All are welcome.


This year’s program will explore the intersection of media and law for women in the digital age. The speakers will be Rikki  Klieman, CBS News legal analyst, trial attorney, actor, and best-selling author; St. Louis’s own Michelle  Li, KSDK  Today in St. Louis anchor and co-founder of the Very  Asian Foundation; and  Paige  Tungate, an ethics attorney at Downey Law Group.


A continental breakfast  will be served, along with coffee, juice, and mimosas. Additional information can be found here.


February 1- LNYF Dinner

Join  your fellow MAABA members for dinner to celebrate the Lunar New Year  and the Year of the Snake on Saturday, February 1st starting at  5 pm.  Address will be provided upon RSVP to maaba.treasurer@gmail.com. This event is sponsored by the Missouri Bar Young Lawyers' Section. We hope to see you there! 

November 21, 2024 - SLU Mentoring Event

MAABA, HBASTL, SABA and the Young Lawyers' Section of the Missouri Bar are co-sponsoring a Happy Hour at St. Louis University Law School.  Swing by for free drinks, give back to the profession and pass on your knowledge!

September 15, 2024 - Annual Picnic

MAABA and AACC's annual pig roast and picnic will be held on Sunday, September 15th from 1 to 4 pm in Shaw Park in Clayton.  This is a family-friendly event that will take place outdoors under the cover of the beautiful Enterprise Pavillion. Join us for an afternoon of delicious food, great company, and live entertainment. In addition to the pig roast, there will be plenty of vegetarian options, as well as desserts, drinks, and adult beverage options. Please email maaba.president@gmail.com to RSVP.
